Matt Charvat is the Founder and President of Charvat Consulting. With over 20 years of experience as a Human Resources Compensation Professional, he has a deep insight and understanding of the industry and best practices over a wide range of Total Rewards topics.

Matt personally consults with clients to assist with the challenges associated with the alignment of Total Rewards strategies across complex organizations. 

Matt's experience includes:

  • Performing comprehensive, whole-organization reviews of compensation programs, including salary structure, variable/incentive compensation and job titling/leveling to ensure standardization through growth, after M&A and over time.

  • Preparing formal opinion letters regarding the reasonableness of compensation provided to key employees.

  • Working with boards, committees and management on executive governance and providing education on trends, new processes and regulations affecting executive compensation to assist an organization in effectively managing its fiduciary responsibility.

  • Helping organizations better compete for and retain top talent in emerging executive and leadership roles.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with a concentration in Business Administration and a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Development, both from Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. He holds a certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the HR Certification Institute and is a Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from the Society of Human Resources Management.

Matt enjoys spending time with friends and family and is an active member in the community volunteering as a youth soccer coach and with Cub scouts.
